The Jade Festival
brings musicians,
artists, crafts people, and rockhounds
together in an annual fundraiser for the
South Coast Community Land Trust. Held at
Pacific Valley School. Friday's hours are
from 12-6, Sat. and Sun. from 10-6
45 vendors of jade, gems, wood & stone. Food
court, raffle, and live music.

Point Sur Lightstation Ghost Tours
1October 24 - October 25
Two special Ghost Tours benefiting the
restoration of Point
Sur Lightstation in Big Sur will be held
on Oct. 24-25. For a donation of $55, your
evening of ghostly fun will begin with a
walking tour to the lighthouse in time for
sunset, followed by refreshments in the barn,
ghost stories of Pt. Sur by professional
actor/storyteller Kevin Hanstick, and dessert
and drinks in the Visitors' Center. Tours
begin at 5:15 p.m. and will last more than 3
hours. Tours are limited to 40 people and
early reservations are recommended as the

from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. Benefiting The SPCA
for Monterey County, this exclusive party
gives dog-lovers the chance to celebrate the
spooky holiday with their pet while enjoying
the scenic views of Quail Meadows. Bringing
together dogs of all shapes and sizes, while
enjoying the beautiful Carmel Valley
sunshine, this event is family-friendly fun!
Featuring a costume contest for children and
dogs (entry to the dog costume contest is
available with a $5 donation to the SPCA), a
dog fashion show showing off the hottest new
designer doggy trends, a live and silent
auction and childrens activities including
a trick or treat which will surely get
tails wagging! Adoption services, provided by
The SPCA for Monterey County, will give you
the chance to meet and take home a new furry
friend! Registration is $35 for adults and
$10 for children 12 and under. Children under
4 and all pets are free. The registration
includes a delicious farm fresh lunch,
beverages and a goodie bag with spooky
treats. Register before October 10th and have
your furry friend featured on the Quail Lodge

Annual 'Sabu's Safari Under the Big Tent'
Dinner and Auction Benefiting The Salvation
Army of Monterey. Join Us! History of the
Memorial Fund Since our father's death, and
beginning in 1999, we have held annual
fundraisers with the proceeds being donated
to various charities. We are pleased to tell
you that we have had an overwhelming response
from the community. On behalf of our entire
family, we would like to thank all of you who
have participated in these fundraisers in
memory of our Dad. To kick off the fundraiser
each year, the Shake Family makes a $5,000
donation on December 5th in memory of our
father. In addition, we also donate 10% of
the gross proceeds on December 5th from our
restaurants, Old Fisherman's Grotto, The Fish
Hopper, Isabella's Italian Seafood, Cabo's
Wild Mexican Seafood, and Lattitudes at
Lover's Point. This year's goal is to raise
$35,000 by midnight on Christmas Eve. We need
your help to accomplish this.
