Rooms at Monterey Hotel
Guest rooms and
suites have been lavishly restored and feature hand-carved furnishings,
ceiling fans, plantation shutters, and fireplaces. These amenities are
coupled with the modern day conveniences of comfortable beds, fine bed
linens, turndown service, two-line phones with data ports, voicemail, and conference
facilities close enough for a private breakout meeting from the
convention center which is just one block away.
When
the Monterey Hotel opened its doors to the public in 1904, it was heralded
in the Monterey New Era newspaper as “Finest European hotel, west of
Chicago. Has no superior on Pacific coast. Perfect in its appointments and
furnished with more modern conveniences than any hotel
in the
west”.
Today, that European elegance still exists in the hotel. Natural wood tones,
antique patinas, leaded glass chandeliers, and wall sconces add warmth to
this Victorian masterpiece.
The elegant yet comfortable decor of the forty-five lavishly restored guest rooms will make your stay a unique experience.
Offering rooms and suites with hand-carved furnishings, ceiling fans and plantation shutters, the designer interiors with marble baths welcome guests with the rare comforts of the Victorian era. Master Suites provide the additional luxury of romantic fireplaces.
Due to the historic nature of the
property, we do not have elevator access.
