Monterey Lodging - Lone Oak Lodge Guest Comments

Pleasantly surprised!

I'm always a little leary of the 'motor lodge' kind of hotel. And when you book online, you have no idea what you're getting into!! But since my last few experiences with big name brand hotels have been pretty disappointing, I figured what the hell! I booked a room at the Lone Oak Lodge and the gentleman who checked me in was so friendly and was more than happy to refer us to a great restaurant. Then when we saw the room it was spotless. The room smelled fresh and we couldn't find a speck of dust anywhere! The parking lot was even clean, with potted flowers hanging everywhere! The location wasn't bad either--only one exit north from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. I would definitely stay here again!

Cared for and CLEAN

I'm sort of a nut about cleanliness, so it goes without saying that staying in hotels/motels (no matter how high or not-so-high end) always kind of leaves me wondering- how often does that bedspread see the inside of a wash machine? EEEWWWW!
But not at Lone Oak Lodge. It never even crossed my mind. The place is impeccable.
Yes, the decor leaves something to be desired, but it's not hideous by any stretch, and what can you expect for this price?
What you can expect here is a clean, comfortable room with exceptionally friendly service. You really couldn't do any better in this price range anywhere in Monterey.

We will always stay here

This is our favorite place to stay. The place is very clean, everyone is friendly & you can't beat the price. We stay in the cottages because my son likes having him own room & it gives us privacy. I have recommended this place to all my friends & the ones who have stayed here loved it.

WE ARE GOING BACK!!

My Family and I Stayed here last May 2004. It was an overall excellent trip. The front desk along with the cleaning crew were very friendly and courteous. The rooms were very clean. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet, just what we wanted and needed. In fact we are visting there again this July 2005. We definitely have plans to make this lodge one we will continue to stay at on our yearly trips to Monterey.

WE LOVED IT

The customer service was extremely pleasant and friendly. The owner went out of his way to give us a map of Monterey and direct us to the attractions that were nearby. When we got to the room we were amazed by how CLEAN it was. We've been to several 4-star hotels and the cleanliness did not compare to Lone Oak. The location was extremely convenient and right by the freeway. We will DEFINITELY go back there again.

We have stayed at several motels over the past 3 months and this is by far the best! We loved it! Thank you very much for having such a nice room and all the extras with affordable Rates!

Charming, cozy, and clean accommodations- friendly people. Nice experience. PS: We chose this motel because we have a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress at home.

We won a gift certificate on the Great KTEH auction. Thank you for your support. Our room was great. Very nicely decorated, neat and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the geraniums outside each room. Very nice place and we will be back again.
