Lovers Point Monterey Museum Bargetto Winery Point Piños

The Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail extends for about one mile from the Monterey Bay Aquarium to Lovers Point in Pacific Grove. Formerly located on the Southern Pacific Railroad Right-of-Way, the trail has separate walking and cycling paths. Lovers Point Park. This park is located at the foot of 17th Street, just half a mile from Pacific Grove Inn. Activities include picnicking, fishing, swimming, water sports, and surfing. Amenities include a large lawn area, a beach volleyball court, a children's swimming pool, sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, a concrete pier structure, a restaurant, and a snack bar. Point Piños Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is located on the northern most tip of the Monterey Peninsula, marking the entrance to Monterey Bay. Built in 1855, the building, lenses and prisms of the light are all original. Point Sur State Historical Park. The Point Sur Light station is located 19 miles south of Carmel-by-the-Sea just off Highway 1. Built in 1889, it used its kerosene lamp and steam fog whistle to warn vessels. It was outfitted with a modern aero beacon in 1994. Today it is still an important coastal landmark for mariners.
